Internship Program

Role Description:  

The Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) Content Creator Intern at Perkins will have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to a vibrant organization, as well as to support the 2030 vision of universal quality education for children with multiple disabilities.

The LAC Content Creator Intern will support the Program Manager and Senior Analyst of the Perkins LAC team and will assist in executing the content creation process for Perkins programs in Latin America, including the LAC website, social media, and other communication projects, as needed.

The role is focused on creating content related to disability inclusion and global education.

This internship program has a flexible format. Depending on your university, academic credit can sometimes be arranged for interns, as well as different learning and training opportunities across the organization’s physical and virtual campuses.

Title of Internship: Content Creator Intern, Perkins Programs in Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC)
Commitment:  Part-time (08-10 hours per week)
Start/End Dates: Summer internship with flexible start dates
Duration: Three months (flexible)
Location:  Interns based in the Boston area will have the option to be in person once a week.
Compensation: $22 per hour

Collage of 24 children in Perkins programs.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create/write/manage digital content in creative ways. 
  • Edit and publish articles, blog post stories, social media posts, with content from our programs within Latin America.
  • Meet the standards in the Style Guide for the Perkins LAC Internship Program.
  • Develop long-term repositories of digital assets.
  • Foster community engagement and learning between members of the community.
  • Measure digital impact by creating digital activity reports.
  • Support the management of social media.
  • Edit content and briefings from presentations and collateral materials.

  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills, and ability to effectively and simply communicate information to diverse audiences with varying levels of language and data literacy.
  • Possess advanced analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Adaptability to different roles and responsibilities and ad hoc work.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills – able to work well in a team environment.
  • Possess a sense of curiosity and creativity. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be a member of the team.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills and project management.
  • Be fluent in English and Spanish.  Fluency in Portuguese is a plus.
  • Previous knowledge of WordPress, Canva, Google Drive, and Trello are a plus.
