Allá por marzo 2020 Fabrizio comenzaba el nivel inicial en la escuela Arena de la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina con toda alegría y expectativas y en 15 días nos avisan que se cerraba todo, porque aquel virus que circulaba por el mundo llegaba a nuestra ciudad y país. Todo esto, generó mucha incertidumbre ya que desconocíamos sobre la pandemia y surgieron preguntas; ¿Cómo será? ¿Cómo haremos? ¿Cómo reaccionará Fabri?, ¿Cómo le voy a enseñar?, ¿Qué vamos a hacer encerrados? … y mucho miedo al escuchar todo lo que los medios de comunicación nos decían acerca de COVID 19. Miedos que dejamos en manos de Dios sabiendo que Él tiene el control de nuestras vidas y que Él es el que nos guía y responde a nuestras preguntas cada día.
Tanto para Fabri como para nosotros como familia (a pesar de todo lo que pasaba a nuestro alrededor relacionado con los contagios, el encierro y la economía) la pandemia fue muy positiva. La actividad de cada día con rehabilitaciones, colegio y horarios, se redujo a tiempo de juegos, desayunos, almuerzos y cenas en familia, a tardes de mates y conversaciones. Tuvimos tiempo de sobra para acompañar a Fabri en sus procesos, uno de ellos, dejar sus pañales de noche, lográndolo con éxito.
Sin duda hubo momentos difíciles como la permanencia frente a una computadora en sus clases virtuales. Aunque en todo momento, los profesores de Fabri y el equipo de profesionales nos ayudaron y apoyaron para que Fabri terminará logrando lo propuesto para esa etapa.
Durante el 2020 y el 2021, Fabri no había salido de casa, si íbamos a alguna plaza era algo muy esporádico. Pero en la segunda mitad del año 2021 las escuelas volvieron a la presencialidad de manera gradual. Cuando le dijimos a Fabrizio que iba a volver al colegio, él estaba fascinado.
A Fabrizio le gustan mucho los libros y le encanta la escuela. El se levanta temprano a las 7 am, sin renegar, hace caso en todo y es por ir a la escuela.
Aprendió un poquito más de las letras, los números, dice papá, mamá y empezó a incorporar pictogramas. También empezó a aprender lengua de señas, de hecho tuvimos que estudiar nosotros, sus padres, para poder incorporarlas en casa. Tuvimos que coordinarnos con la escuela y con el centro de rehabilitación. Fue un trabajo en equipo. Cuando él descubrió las señas y que puede ordenar, y pedir lo que él quiere, fue impresionante. Es maravilloso cómo ha aprendido tan rápido.
Ahora en el 2022, estamos felices que las escuelas hayan regresado a la presencialidad completa y que Fabrizio esté tan contento de volver a su escuela, con sus amigos, y con las maestras, que tanto nos han ayudado en estos dos años. Aunque hasta el día de hoy seguimos con el coronavirus dando vuelta por este mundo y afectando a muchos seres amados y a tantos otros que no conocemos, seguimos adelante y llevamos en nuestros corazones y en nuestras oraciones a todos aquellos que han sufrido. Sabemos que esto es lo que nos toca transitar, y que abrazándonos con amor todo es más llevadero.

Fabrizio’s story: Parents and teachers working together
Back in March 2020 Fabrizio began the initial level at the Arena school in the city of Córdoba, Argentina with all joy and expectations and in 15 days they told us that everything was closed, because that virus that was circulating around the world was coming to our city and country.
All this generated a lot of uncertainty since we did not know about the pandemic and questions arose; As will be? How will we do? How will Fabri react? How am I going to teach him? What are we going to do locked up? … and a lot of fear when listening to everything that the media told us about COVID 19. Fears that we leave in the hands of God knowing that He is in control of our lives and that He is the one who guides us and answers our questions every day.
Both for Fabri and for us as a family (despite everything that was happening around us related to infections, confinement and the economy) the pandemic was very positive. The activity of each day with rehabilitation, school and schedules, was reduced to game time, breakfast, lunch and dinner with the family, to afternoons of math and conversations. We had plenty of time to accompany Fabri in his processes, one of them, leaving his diapers at night, achieving it successfully.
Without a doubt there were difficult moments such as staying in front of a computer in their virtual classes. Although at all times, Fabri’s teachers and the team of professionals helped and supported us so that Fabri ended up achieving what was proposed for that stage.
During 2020 and 2021, Fabri had not left home, if we went to a square it was something very sporadic. But in the second half of 2021, schools gradually returned to face-to-face attendance. When we told Fabrizio that he was going back to school, he was fascinated.
Fabrizio really likes books and he loves school. He gets up early at 7 am, without complaining, pays attention to everything and it’s because he goes to school.
He learned a little more about the letters, the numbers, says dad, mom and began to incorporate pictograms. She also began to learn sign language, in fact we, her parents, had to study to be able to incorporate them at home. We had to coordinate with the school and with the rehabilitation center. It was a team effort. When he found out the signs and that he can order, and ask for what he wants, it was impressive. It is wonderful how he has learned so quickly.
Now in 2022, we are happy that the schools have returned to full presence and that Fabrizio is so happy to return to his school, with his friends, and with the teachers, who have helped us so much in these two years. Although to this day we continue with the coronavirus going around this world and affecting many loved ones and so many others we do not know, we continue forward and carry in our hearts and in our prayers all those who have suffered. We know that this is what we have to go through, and that hugging each other with love everything is more bearable.
